English

Given the increasing use of modern communication technologies, e-coaching has emerged as a tool for adapting to the evolving conditions of society, which can be utilized to enhance the performance of educational managers and leaders. The purpose of this study was to identify the components of an e-coaching model for educational leaders. This research was conducted through a systematic review. To identify the components, the research questions were first formulated, and the search keywords were then determined. The keywords were searched in the two databases (Web of Science and Scopus) as well as in 71 reputable journals in the field of e-learning listed in the SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) system. A total of 2,433 articles were retrieved, and after reviewing the articles, 23 relevant studies in the domain of e-coaching were selected. Thematic synthesis was employed to analyze, or code the extracted data. The identified components of e-coaching include: “setting virtual coaching goals” , “determining learners’ competency levels” , “posing reflective questions to learners” , “identifying learners’ needs”, “interaction”, “breaking down general goals into specific ones”, “determining resources”, “selecting appropriate technology”, “planning”, “providing appropriate and continuous feedback”, “evaluation”, “software development”, and “maintaining online security”. The final model proposed in this study can serve as a preliminary conceptual framework for future research.
