Covid 19 pandemic has made educational institutes and centers blend online teaching into their traditional learning strategies. Due to its nature, online teaching has caused multiple problems for both educators and students. This study was aimed at determining online teaching challenges from teachers’ and parents’ viewpoints, prioritizing them and suggesting effective solutions. First in qualitative phase, purposive sampling method was used to select 14 teachers and 15 parents. They were interviewed by semi-structured method and their data was analyzed using Colaizzi method to extract key categories. In quantitative phase two questionnaires were designed based on extracted categories from previous phase. Using snowball sampling method 357 parents and 306 teachers completed the questionnaires via online link. Psychometric properties of the questionnaires were evaluated (face, convergent, construct validity through exploratory factor analysis and reliability). Data analysis showed online teaching challenges from teachers’ point of views could be categorized in 8 components (internet related problems for students, Shaad Channel problems, lack of proper digital sources, lack of educational justice, poor facilities, problems regarding teaching process and assessment, job stress, lack of parent-teacher collaboration and low media literacy). Parents’ challenges include: poor facilities, internet related problems, low efficacy on teachers, setbacks in students’ personal growth, their decreased motivation, lack on decline at home and lack of information about teaching strategies and lessons. Related suggestion included: Increasing media literacy, mediating teacher-parent relations, upgrading messengers, online sources and TV educational programs, providing facilities, enhancing parental supervision, teaching distance teaching techniques, prompting peer relations and time management.
