The Effect of Storytelling Teaching Method on Learning the Math lesson of Fourth Grade Elementary Students

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of storytelling teaching method on the learning of mathematics lesson of fourth grade elementary students. In this research, a semi-experimental method was used with a pre-test- post- test design with control and experimental groups. The statistical population of the research included the fourth grade male students sheerestan takstan of Qazvin province in the academic year of 1400-1401, from which 40 people(20 people in the experimental group and 20 people in the control group) were selected by available sampling method. The data was collected using a researcher- made test and the learning performance included the cognitive domain. Data were analyzed using one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The findings showed that the implementation of the storytelling teaching method in the math lesson has been able to increase the academic performance score of the math lesson in cognitive domain( level of knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis), but no positive performance was obtained at the level of evaluation
