The aim of this study was to explain the characteristics of the work-based learning curriculum. The research approach was qualitative and systematic review and content analysis methods were used. The research field consisted of reputable global sources related to this field, and 68 sources were selected based on the systematic review criteria. First, the concept of curriculum and the triple interactions of "workplace-learner-educational environment" in this curriculum and its similarities and differences with other programs were briefly explained. Then, topics related to the components of the work-based curriculum were identified and searched. After selecting the studies, a questionnaire was taken to extract data from the evaluated studies; then, it was analyzed qualitatively (inductive content analysis). For this purpose, open coding was performed after extracting the components. In the next step, the categories were categorized and then the themes were extracted. By categorizing the open codes, 32 categories and 10 themes related to the characteristics of work-based curriculum elements were obtained.
