The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a mobile phone-free entertainment program on creativity, self-reliance, responsibility, and self-regulation in children aged 6 to 8 years. The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest and a 45-day follow-up period, along with a control group. The statistical population comprised all children aged 6 to 8 years in Isfahan during the 2023-2024 academic year. The sampling method was multi-stage random sampling, through which 40 children were selected, with 20 randomly assigned to the experimental group and 20 to the control group. The experimental group received ten sessions of the mobile phone-free entertainment program based on the protocol by Matthew Jarvis (2015), while the control group did not receive any intervention. The research instruments included Abedi’s Creativity Questionnaire (1993), Azizi-Moghadam’s Preschool Children Self-Esteem Checklist (2007), the Student Responsibility Questionnaire (2014), and Mark Davis’s Self-Regulation Questionnaire (1983). Data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA via SPSS version 26. The results indicated a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in creativity, self-reliance, responsibility, and self-regulation. Furthermore, the follow-up test revealed significant improvements in creativity, self-reliance, responsibility, and self-regulation compared to the pretest scores. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mobile phone-free entertainment program effectively enhances creativity, self-reliance, responsibility, and self-regulation in children aged 6 to 8.
